Cowgirl Lidia

Ropes. They have lots of uses and come in mighty handy sometimes. But, it takes the imagination of a 3-year-old to come up with the best.

Cliff and Lidia were outside one afternoon last week and while Cliff was busy working on something, Lidia was playing with a 3 ft. piece of rope he had given to her about a week or so before. She had been trying to jump rope with it. You know the normal little girl's games. But this child's imagination runs rampant sometimes, so it is no surprise that the piece of rope was conjuring up all sorts of things she could do with it. I was checking on Sawyer who was napping at the time and was walking back and forth from the bedroom to the back door. I kept peeking outside to see what Lidia was up to and just so happen to look outside at the same time she tore off running across the backyard. She was headed straight for the barn and horse pasture. I immediately went into alarm mode! All I could think of was that she was going to run in to the pasture, scare Sissy and get the life kicked out of her. So, I jerked opened the back door to yell for her to come back and at the same time heard Cliff yelling for her too. Nothing was slowing this little thing down. So, Cliff took off running after her. He had a little bit of a hard time catching up to her too, but made it to the edge of the pasture just as she did, thank goodness. Cliff scooped her up and lingered out there for just a couple of minutes. Then at last, I saw them walking back up to the house.

I asked, "What was that all about?" Cliff said, "She was just going to lasso the horses."
